About Grandfield & Murphy, LLP

Our firm consists of two principal partners, John D. Grandfield and Julie K. Murphy. Attorney Grandfield had his own law firm for over twenty-five years before partnering with Attorney Murphy and forming Grandfield & Murphy, LLP. At present we consist of attorneys and support staff. At times we employ associate attorneys and attorneys who act as "of counsel". Grandfield & Murphy, LLP also employs law clerks from the local law schools, who assist us with research and case work, offering them real world experience. Any one of us would be happy to assist you with your legal needs.

John D. Grandfield

Attorney Grandfield has been practicing law since 1980. He is a graduate of New England School of Law and obtained his undergraduate degree from Hamilton College, where he majored in Biology. He has maintained a civil practice concentrating in real estate and business law, along with handling many cases in the probate courts. Attorney Grandfield practices in many district, housing and probate courts in Massachusetts, including Middlesex, Norfolk, Plymouth, Suffolk and Worcester counties.

Attorney Grandfield has been married since 1981 and has two sons. He has been active in various sports organizations and coached many teams for the past fifteen years. He prides himself on keeping his client's best interest in mind.

Julie K. Murphy

Attorney Murphy is an experienced attorney who practices in many probate and family courts in Massachusetts. Ms. Murphy is also a certified family law mediator. Attorney Murphy focuses on divorce, custody, support, college issues, alimony, pre-nuptial agreements, separation agreements and other family law issues. She also handles estate planning needs such as wills, powers of attorney, and probating estates.

Ms. Murphy grew up in Massachusetts and is a graduate of Suffolk University Law School. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Political Science at Northeastern University, graduating cum laude. Attorney Murphy is married with two children and is active in town organizations such as community theatre and The Referral Hub, a local business networking group.

Attorney Murphy takes her work seriously and spends many hours per year enhancing her knowledge of the law by participating in courses taught by Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education and the Massachusetts Bar Association. Ms. Murphy is a member of the Norfolk Bar Association and the Massachusetts Council of Family Mediation.

Kathleen E. Konno

Kathleen E. Konno has been practicing law for many years and is licensed in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island. She concentrates her practice in civil litigation, collections, residential real estate, and estate planning.

Attorney Konno recently married and changed her last name from Crowley to Konno. She has lived in Massachusetts her entire life and has been active in community events. She obtained her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Framingham State College with a degree in History. She then went to Suffolk University Law School and obtained her legal degree.

Attorney Konno is excited to be joining the firm and utilizing her previous legal experience which allowed her to appear in almost every civil session in the State of Massachusetts. Attorney Konno prides herself on giving all of her clients individualized and personal attention, and looks forward to working with prior and new clients of Grandfield & Murphy, LLP.
